JPS Students Speak Live To NASA Astronaut Shane Kimbrough

Eighth grade students and high school students from Jenks Public Schools enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime experience as they participated in a live downlink with NASA astronaut Shane Kimbrough aboard the International Space Station. Students asked Commander Kimbrough questions about his responsibilities, his training, his diet in space, and much more.

Following the downlink, Lt. Col. Duane Carey, USAF (Ret.), a NASA astronaut for a mission to service the Hubble Telescope, spoke to students to provide insight on the capabilities of the ISS and the responsibilities of the astronauts on board. Lt. Col. Carey's visit was possible with the help of the Siegfried family as part of Flight Night Space Week.
