5th and 6th Grade Developmental Education Information

5th and 6th grade developmental education will be provided during the 1st semester, during the beginning of November.  Your classroom teachers will send out exact dates.

5th grade students will be shown a video about anatomy, the emotional and physical transformations of puberty and the importance of good health and hygiene.  The gender specific videos are shown in separate rooms.  Parents may view the video by calling the nurses office and making an appointment.

Please check your students agenda for dates and times.

6th grade students will watch a video that deals with both physical and emotional changes that take place in both the female and male bodies during puberty.  The boys and girls will watch the same film but will be separated; girls in one room, boys in another.  A male staff member, if available, will facilitate the boys class.  Parents can view the video by calling the nurses office and making arrangements.

Remember once classes have been scheduled, students are asked to write this information in their agendas for parent notification.
