Flexible Benefit Allowance (FBA) and District Benefit Allowance (DBA)

Eligible Employees will receive a FBA* or DBA* allowance to help offset the cost of their insurance benefits.

 

*FBA - Flexible Benefit Allowance 

*DBA - District Benefit Allowance 

 

Certified Staff - contracted to work at least 20 hours per week: 

  • Enrolled in one of the District health plans, will receive a monthly FBA of $594.90 in 2018 ($571.04 in 2017).
  • Not enrolled in one of the District health plans, will receive a monthly FBA of $69.71 ($69.71 in 2017). 

Classified Staff - contracted to work 30 hours or more per week:

  • Enrolled in one of the District health plans, will receive a monthly FBA of $594.90 in 2018 ($571.04 in 2017).
  • Not enrolled in one of the District health plans, will receive a monthly FBA of $189.69 ($189.69 in 2017).

Note:  FBA amounts are subject to change each January 1st.  The FBA amount provided to eligible employees enrolled in a health plan offered by the District is equal to the HealthChoice High premium rate set each January 1st.  The 2018 HealthChoice High premium rate is $594.90.

Classified Staff - contracted to work 20 - 30 hours per week:

  • Enrolled in one of the District health plans ,will receive a monthly DBA equal to one-half of the employee only single premium. Employees may choose any  health plan offered by the District. 
  • Not enrolled in one of the District health plans, will not receive a monthly insurance allowance.
